What the Hot Stove League is all about...
The Tri-State Hot Stove Baseball League is a non-profit organization with over 200 members. We are located in Evansville, IN but have members throughout the United States. Originally, the group was comprised solely of former professional baseball players. We have since opened our membership to the public to provide the manpower needed to run our Golf Scramble Scholarship fundraisers and the Night of Memories. Our membership includes Don Mattingly, Felix Mantilla, Andy Benes, Marty Amsler, Don Buse, Bob Griese, Evansville area high school and college baseball coaches, college softball and women basketball coaches, area businessmen and community leaders. Our Main Goals Are: 1. Provide an annual four year partial college scholarship for at least one area high school senior who has shown himself to be an outstanding athlete, student and citizen. 2. Provide financial assistance to youth oriented athletic organizations. While our name implies we are solely involved in baseball, that is not the case. We provide financial assistance to youth organizations including baseball, softball, soccer, football, wrestling, basketball and youth ministry athletics. Our "Night of Memories" has raised over $700,000.00 the past 8 years that we have distributed to over 100 youth organizations. |
