BY IN Recent News On November 21, 2013

With Wednesday’s midnight deadline looming to protect players from the Rule 5 draft, the Nationals added Evansville native, Aaron Barrett to their 40-man roster. Barrett is a graduate of Central High School and attended Wabash Valley CC. He was selected in the ninth-round of the 2010 draft by the Washington Nationals, after a strong senior season at Ole Miss. In 91 innings he posted a 7-5 record and 4.34 ERA as their #2 starter. At Class AA Harrisburg last season he had a 2.15 ERA and a 1.093 WHIP in 51 appearances. He struck out 69 batters and walked 15, relying on low 90s fastball and slider rated as the best in the Nationals system by Baseball America. Congratulations to Aaron, we look forward to seeing you pitch in the bigs next season!
